The club say farewell to Robbie & Richard. The full article can be read in Harwich & Manningtree Standard, 17th May 2013 Farewell to Robbie May, Harwich & Parkeston player and joint-manager retired after the final Kent Blaxill Essex and Suffolk Border League game of the season, at home to neighbours Little Oakley.
The derby will bring an end to his long association with the club, having made his debut in 1996 and gone on to make more than 400 appearances. “Robbie has been an outstanding player for many seasons,” said Tony Armstrong, Club Chairman. “He could easily continue playing at the top level in the Border League. “However, we respect his reasons for retiring and can only thank him for the brilliant service he has given our club over many years. “He will be sorely missed, both on and off the pitch.” We also say goodbye to Reserve team boss Richard Neal. Richard took charge for the last two seasons. He started with the Under 9s (under the management of Ian Carroll) and the team stayed together through the youth leagues, forming Harwich & Parkeston 'A', later becoming the Reserve team. In their first season, with Ian Carroll by his side side, Richard lead the team to winning the league and Tommy Thompson Cup. We wish Richard the best success in his new life in Oxford. |

HPFC are appealing for anyone who is interested in joining the Committee and/or helping out at the club in anyway. Following tonights Committee meeting we have decided to make an appeal to our supporters to join us in ensuring that the club has a viable and succesful future with an aim to returning to Senior level club football. To do this we are looking for people to join our existing Committee, and also for people who are able to help out with ground maintainace and fundraising.

Thank you to everyone who came along to watch and support the first team play Little oakley on saturday, a deserved draw secured Harwich fourth place in the league.The club managers, coaches, comittee members and players would All like to pass on their thanks for your kind support over the season and look forward to seeing you at our planned events over the summer. |
